What matters most about a home is how it makes you feel—when you pull into the driveway, when you entertain friends, or when you’re out back playing catch with your kids. John Wilson has built his career around helping buyers not just purchase a property, but live the lifestyle they truly desire.
 
After earning a Business degree from Duquesne University, John began his career in the financial services industry, quickly moving into leadership roles that sharpened his sales, marketing, and negotiation skills. He later transitioned into the building business, assisting agents and clients in enhancing homes to maximize value or customize newly purchased properties. This background continues to pay dividends today, allowing him to advise clients not only as a trusted real estate professional but also with the insight of someone who understands construction and long-term value.
 
Real estate has always been part of John’s life. His grandfather began investing in South Florida in the early 1960s, and his father invested in preconstruction real estate along the beaches, giving John a deep-rooted foundation in the business.
 
Specializing in luxury real estate from Fort Lauderdale to Palm Beach—with a strong focus on Palm Beach—John has built a highly successful referral-based practice. More than 90% of his business comes from agents across the country, not only within Douglas Elliman but also with other leading brokerages. Trusted by his peers, John frequently travels to Douglas Elliman offices nationwide, speaking on how to build a successful client-focused business.
 
John works alongside his wife and partner of 39 years, Lisa, forming what he proudly calls “the best team I know.” Together, they’ve built a reputation for results, integrity, and client-first service. John prefers the title of real estate advisor over salesperson, reflecting his role as a trusted guide in major life decisions.
 
His expertise has been featured in The Wall Street Journal, Fox Business News, Behind the Hedges, and numerous real estate podcasts across the country.
 
Born in Pittsburgh and raised in Fort Lauderdale, John and Lisa now live in Lighthouse Point, where they raised three adult sons. They share their home with Arlo, their German Shorthaired Pointer. Outside of work, John is an avid road cyclist and active in local philanthropy.
